Resting in the little village of Litton Cheney within the Bride Valley in Dorset is Willowbrook Cottage which offers a contemporary interior in this quaint and traditional countryside setting.Set over two floors and with the local pub nearby, this lovely abode will be a perfect home for a family of four or two couples, with the superking room able to be turned into a twin on request.Spend time in the light and airy open-plan kitchen/diner, where you can get the dinner on the go as you set up a board game on the dining table to play while the food simmers, afterwards discussing your plans for the rest of the week as you tuck into a tasty feast.

This was our 4th year returning and definitely won’t be our last. Starting with the welcome you receive from the hosts, neighbours and the White horse local pub to the stunning scenery. If you are looking to get away from it all and a holiday of pure relaxation then this is the place. The cottage is well equipped with everything you could need, the beds are so comfy you won’t want to leave. Just a very short walk is the White Horse Pub, a friendly local, serving freshly cooked food. I’m gluten free and the meals did not disappoint, the Sunday roast is worth a mention too but I would recommend booking as they can get very busy.

If you are taking your dog they will also receive a warm welcome. The purple turtle cafe is just a short walk over the field, it is primarily a camp site but serves a nice coffee and a place to sit and while away an hour near the lake. Modbury farm shop is a few minutes drive for any essentials you may need, they also sell a selection of frozen and fresh gluten free products.

The cheese factory is close by which is also worth a visit as their cheese is excellent. A couple of seaside places we enjoy visiting are Lyme Regis and Weymouth both are approximately 30 minutes away. We are already trying to plan our next trip back to Willowbrook Cottage, hopefully, very soon.
