4.9 miles The Open Air Dairy
At the Open Air Dairy
They do things a little differently...
Their cows live outside all year round in harmony with the beautiful surroundings of the Dorset countryside. Grazing on grass & roaming the pastures.
The cows don't even come inside to be milked, they take mobile parlours to them in the open air. hence the name of this beautiful business!

"The Open Air Dairy is pretty unique! Our cows are milked in which ever field they are grazing, they don't even come in for milking. We take the milking parlours to the cows where ever they are. We believe the cows are happier and healthier this way and we believe you can taste this happiness in every bite of our cheddar."

Cows live a laid back way of life.
The Open Dairy believe that this makes cows happier, healthier and we are all convinced this is what makes their cheddar taste so great!
We tell our customers its happy cheese that makes you smile on your first bite and leaves you convinced on your last mouthful that happiness actually adds flavour.
A Lensomy approach to farming just up the road and collaborating with our local Cheese factory at Ford Farm to make this jolly milk into memorable cheese.
